Become a CAMP LEADER in TRAINING: For high school and collegiate students who want to develop their leadership skills and enjoy working with youth.

CAMP LEADER IN TRAINING

 

DESCRIPTION
 

  • Become a Camp Leader in Training (CLT); Improve your leadership skills, and learn more about rowing.

  • We are looking for responsible individuals who are interested in helping us run DISCOVERY Rowing Camps and DISCOVERY Rowing Weekend Camps.

  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing the equipment, greeting and engaging the participants, help launching and recovering singles, reinforcing instructional strategies, on-the-water traffic control, and general support during the camp activities.

  • We are looking to enroll up to 2 CLTs per camp. A preference will be given to applicants who can commit to a period of 1-2 or more weeks.

  • CLTs that commit to a full week or more will get one month of free access to CommRow sculling sessions.
     

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
 

  • Must be a high school or college student.

  • At least one year of rowing experience.

  • Must be a proficient swimmer and be able to swim at least 100 yards and tread water for 5 minutes.

  • Preference will be given to applicants with previous single scull experience, or to applicants that successfully  completed one of our DISCOVERY rowing camps.

  • A letter from a rowing coach confirming rowing/sculling experience.
     

APPLICATION PROCESS
 

  • Check the schedule (dates, times, and locations) for the Discovery Rowing Camps and Discover Weekend Rowing Camps, and decide which ones you would like to apply for as a Camp Leader in Training.

  • Fill out and submit application form preferably by June 1st. You can submit your application after this date but the chances that you will be selected may be reduced.

  • Ask your coach to send us a letter of confirmation at coachstolar@row4all.org

  • We will respond to your application within a few days.
