Indoor rowing & cross-training  for all ages and levels

Indoor rowing in rowing tanks
Discovery iNTRO 2 INDOOR ROWING
  • Learn to Row class on rowing ergometers and in rowing tanks.

  • You will learn basic rowing skills and concepts, and be ready for an easy transition to on-the-water rowing.

  • Runs twice a week for 3 weeks.

EXCEL I-ROW XT
  • Learn to Row sculling camp in open water singles.

  • Designed for Middle school (10+) and High school students.

  • Runs for 5 days, Monday - Friday.

  • Includes five 2-hour sculling lessons + 3 free CommROW sessions.

EXPLORE indoor rowing
  • Designed for youth (10+ yo) and adults with some previous rowing experience.

  • You will further improve your rowing skills and build rowing specific fitness.

  • Runs twice a week for 3 weeks.

EXPLORE cross-country SKI
  • Join us for cross-country ski group workouts.

  • Learn new skills, improve your fitness, meet new friends, and have fun while being outdoors.

  • Includes one 90-minute class.​

DISCOVERY I2i-Row

Introduction to Indoor Rowing Class for beginners

DESCRIPTION

  • Learn to Row indoor class designed for individuals of all ages (10+) with no previous rowing experience. 

  • The class has six 1-hour lessons that run over three weeks period.

  • Lessons are delivered on rowing ergometers, and in rowing tanks.

  • The focus is on learning and improving rowing technique, while building general fitness.

  • Lessons follow gradual and individualized progression from basic to more advanced rowing skills.

  • The class size limit is 16 participants.

  • Minimum enrollment requirement is 5 participants.

SCHEDULE

You can pick one of the four DS i2I-ROW classes between November-February.

Classes in November & December run on Tuesday and Thursday from 6-7 PM, and classes in January & February run on Monday and Friday from 6-7 PM.

Indoor Rowing Class for intermediate rowers

DESCRIPTION

SCHEDULE

The class runs from November - February, and has 4 modules. Each module runs for 3 weeks, and has a total of 6 workouts. Workouts run from 6-7 PM on Tuesday & Thursday during November and December, and on Monday & Friday during January and February. Each workout is 1-hour long.

EXCEL I-Row XT

Indoor Rowing & Cross-Training Class for competitive rowers

DESCRIPTION

  • This class is designed for competitive High School rowers.

  • It offers workouts in rowing tanks, on rowing ergometers, and HIIT resistance workouts.

  • The focus is on improving rowing technique, aerobic & anaerobic endurance, and strength & power.

  • The class has 6 modules.

  • Each module runs for 2 weeks, and has a total of eight 2-hour workouts. 

  • Each module has a training program with specific short-term goals. There is a logical progression between the modules that all fit together and make a comprehensive unit with the main goal of getting ready for the 2K sprints in the spring season.

  • The class size limit is 32 participants.

The class runs from November - February, and has 6 modules.

Each module has 8 workouts that run on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6-8PM or 7-9PM.

EXPLORE XC SKI

Cross-Country Ski group training

DESCRIPTION

  • Cross-Country skiing for all levels and ages.

  • This is a group 90 min training where you can learn new skills, improve your cardio, meet new friends, and have fun.

  • Class is dependent on local snow conditions.

  • You need to bring your own equipment: skis, poles, and boots.

​​

SCHEDULE

When local snow conditions are good for cross-country skiing, we open registration for this class, and send out a newsletter with an announcement.

The class usually runs on weekends.

​

LOCATIONS

  • We ski on the groomed golf courses in North Chicago Suburbs, or around Skokie Lagoons.
